Drew's Story
Four year old Drew Denny is one of the 80,000 plus people on the
national waiting list for a life-saving organ transplant. Drew was
diagnosed with a rare liver disease called "biliary atresia"
when she was just two months old.
The cause of her disease is unknown but it is the number one reason
for liver transplants in children. Drew has had some complications
in the past year due to her liver disease but despite that this fiery
little red head is a fighter.
She loves to sing, draw and play games on the computer. Her story
has caused many people to reconsider organ donation.
Most people do not realize there is a tragic shortage of organ donors.
As of today there are more than 80,000 people on the national waiting
list for an organ transplant. On average 15 people die every day waiting.
Every 13 minutes another person is added to the waiting list. Changing
people's minds about organ donation may be Drew's only hope.
You can make a difference. Be an organ donor. Talk with your family
about organ donation today. Share your life, share your decision.
